Hourly Tutoring
#Single Student
So that time is never wasted I require all students to go through the Free Introductory Session before starting hourly tutoring. I primarily focus is K-5 students but can also support older students students in most subjects.
"I've had nothing but great experiences with Mr. Johnson. He is smart, innovative, and all of my students loved work with him. Hands down, he's the best."
Debbie Bygland 4th Grade Teacher
What to Expect
During this time your student and I will work on the program that we worked out during the
Introductory Session. Make sure this session is done before you book an hourly tutoring session with me. Below you will find many of the subjects I can go over and help your child with. Also make sure you check out the "what you'll need" section to get started.
Cancellation Policy
Lets get this issue right out in the open. Any cancellation done 24 hours before the scheduled lesson will, unfortunately, come without a refund or rescheduling.
Cancellations made with more than 24 hour notice will be allowed to reschedule their session on a date and time arranged with me. There will be no refunds.
If I cancel an appointment you will have the choice of a refund of your money or to have your appointment moved to another day.
What is Virtual tutoring like?
When you set up your Introductory session you will receive a link to either Zoom or Google Meet. On the day of your session around 5 minutes before your appointed time you will log onto the site with your link. Then, I will let your student into the room. If you have trouble logging in contact me so I can help you through the log in. I will walk your student through how everything works and help to make them comfortable with the technology. Then we will go through the introductory session.
Once you decide to book a tutoring session for your student, they will log on just like they did for the introductory session. Then I will begin our session. For math, the students will see a white board on the screen that we will work with to solve problems and also for instruction. For reading the student will see the article that I want them to read and we will work on reading and comprehension. If your student has a homework question, they will share their screen with me and I will help them as they work. This is the generic set up. Your student may have different assignments that we are working on but it will follow the same format.
At the end of the session I will take any question from you or your student and give some suggestions during the time before our next session.
What you'll need to get started!
